Summer break - here we come!

We have started our summer adventure! We flew out of the village May 2oth and headed south for Oregon!

Two weeks before we left the village - there were many events that happened; starting with choir concert, then Prom, Graduation then our Memorial Fun Run! It was a busy time, but what fun everyone had! The weather finally warmed up and very little snow was visible by the time we flew out. The Qinaq River that surrounds our village, broke up and had started it's flow to the Kuskokwim River on May 17th and the migrating birds had almost all returned.

The choir concert was AWESOME! The kids made us very proud! They had improved so much over the last year!

Prom was on Friday, May 13th. The theme was "Sparkle". Holy cajoli - that it did. Sparkles were everywhere, but it looked beautiful when it was finished! I swear the school will be seeing sparkles until 2059! Not to mention our carpet in the house!

Our graduation was held May 14th at 1:00 P.M. We had 7 in the class of 2011. It was a great day; even the choir sang in the ceremony! Here are a couple of graduation cards that I made...

The last day of school was Thursday May 19th. The teachers had one final work day on Friday and then we were released to fly out!
